The NT-12 is one of the most valuable additions to a traffic
control technician's test equipment inventory. It enables
the signal technician to observe controller functions on both
NEMA TS-1 standard and extended function controllers, and
NEMA TS-2 Type 2 standard controllers.
The NT-12 offers the signal technician one of the most effective
tools available to evaluate the operation of NEMA Extended
Function controllers. It enables the technician to simulate
any controller function on command for expedited troubleshooting.
While the technician is more likely to make a comprehensive
check of a controller in the shop, the portability of the
NT-12 permits conducting the same procedures in the field.
With the NT-12's "Extended Functions" section,
connection can be made to a wide variety of NEMA controllers
with a "D" connector. It provides access to the controllers
"D" connector pins, which include such functions as additional
overlaps, standard and special preemption, system coordination,
local coordination, master coordination, local/master download
functions, etc.
